Data warehousing Fokus optik The company FOKUS optik was established in 1991, and currently it is the biggest company in the area of eye optics in the Czech Republic operating 91 optics in 45 towns. Loyalty program FOKUS OPTIK club was established in 2006 and currently it has more than 25,000 members.
The people who are interested in membership of the club can fill in the printed application form immediately in the shop or can fill in the web form on the website of the company FOKUS optik.
The transcription of data from the application forms goes through many checks. By their use we are trying to reduce the number of mistakes in transcription as much as possible and ensure the storage of the most precise data into the database as possible.
Names and surnames are checked against the database of existing names and for capital letters. The transcribed address is checked against the database of existing streets, towns and zip codes and the card number is repeatedly transcribed for removal of possible operator?s typos.
Data is stored in tables connected by an unambiguous identification code. Data can later be selected according to many criteria and their particular selection depends on the purpose or focus of the campaign for which the data is selected (sex, age, address, children, their number or age, emails, phones, amount and number of purchases, etc.).
All activities developed for each particular customer (addressing the customer with a shipment, e-mail, SMS, participation in the contest?) and also provided from him (phone, e-mail and written contacts including the purpose of the contact) are recorded into the database.
Customer data is continuously updated based on the demands of club members (change of address, surname, e-mail, phone). Club members most often communicate their demands by using the information line and e-mail correspondence or based on the feedback to the running campaign.
The structure of the database remains unchanged for the entire period of membership of the club, but it adapts to the new demands for collection of the customer data.
For safety reasons the data is backed up twice a day and the backed up data is stored for approximately 3 weeks, so that in the unlikely case that even despite relatively strict protection, the stored data is damaged, it can be restored to original status.
